Dear Editor:
As one who participated in city government for a good number of years, I want to congratulate outgoing Mayor Bill Verbosky on a job well done during trying times. His calm, patient, nonconfrontational leadership yielded great returns for the community we all love. Thank you.
Our new mayor, Neil MacKinnon III, shows great promise. His winning attitude, his ability to bring people together, and his willingness to speak to all and consider all sides of any issue, bodes well for the the future.
The new council members and the experienced incumbents appear ready to work together and to make our great community even better.
Congratulations to our new Police Chief, Glenn Goss. You have agreed to serve in one of the most important posts in the new administration. You suggested you were seeking community support...those of us who know you are already on your team.
The key decision to keep the services of Ed Cieka as city administrator showed that Mayor MacKinnon understands the need to use experienced and proven talent. That may be his best decision of them all.
