Metroparks Toledo accepts award as top park district in nation

Metroparks Toledo commissioners and staff accepted an award from the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration, in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association.

At the November 18 meeting, Karen Hesser, chief of operations for Five Rivers MetroParks, presented the gold medal plaque to the park commissioners.

The park district was among several finalists for the award. Others were Dallas, Texas; Mesa, Arizona and East Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
