Toledoan takes command of U.S. submarine squadron based out of Pearl Harbor
U.S. Navy Captain Michael Majewski, a Toledo native, took command of Submarine Squadron (SUBRON)7, stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, at a military ceremony on January 7.
The official change of command ceremony saw Capt. Majewski relieve Captain Paul Davis, from Harrisonburg, Virginia, as commodore. Rear Admiral Blake Converse, commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, was the guest speaker for the ceremony.
“For over 200 years command of naval ships has meant more than simply being the person in charge,” Adm. Converse said at the ceremony. “By tradition, it means complete responsibility, authority and accountability. A wise commanding officer will remember that these are his primary responsibilities.”
