Council considers new TARTA funding plan

At a May 11 meeting, Rossford City Council delayed a decision on whether to support a new funding model requested by TARTA to shift from property tax levies to a sales tax.

Kim Dunham, general manager of TARTA, and Danny Woodcock, president of the TARTA board, gave a presentation to council members, explaining their proposal to establish the new financing.

Mr. Woodcock explained that TARTA is seeking to replace the 2.5-mill property tax levies with a 0.5 percent sales tax and make Lucas County a member of the transit system.
